Special events or exhibits relating to Nebraska’s 150: DVD produced in celebration of Nebraska’s Sesquecentennial: Pobl y Paith/People of the Plains: The Welsh in Nebraska
Description: The Mission of the Great Plains Welsh Heritage Project is to discover, preserve, interpret and celebrate the history and contributions of Welsh pioneers on the North American prairies, to further public understanding and appreciation of America’s ethnic and cultural diversity. We house a state-of-the art archive building which includes Welsh language newspapers from the 1850’s. Our library houses many artifacts individuals can utilize to research their family histories. Our organization also owns a one-room schoolhouse located in McCandless Park and a railroad museum dedicated to the past employees of the Burlington Northern Railroad all in Wymore, NE.

  1. Do view our video about people coming from the Old Country for land in Nebraska. http://www.welshheritageproject.org to view trailer plus links to Youtube and Vimeo to view 19-minute documentary. FREE DVDs available (makes a great program for your meeting).
